Congratulations to Stéphanie Norsikian and co-workers for their publication presenting the total synthesis of Tiacumicin B, a natural macrolide with antibiotic properties for the treatment of intestinal Clostridium difficile infections. Highly beta-diastereoselective glycosylations through the combination of a 3-O-picoloyl group and an anomeric phenylsulfoxide group placed on glycosyl donors.
